The Little Ship Club: communicating a welcome

Wild Strawberry Communications is proud to be helping the Little Ship Club to communicate with members and clients for its Thames-side facilities.

The 80-year old Club's members sail far and wide. Wild Strawberry Communications founder Rachel Hedley has edited and managed production of the its membership magazine, The Little Ship, since 1998. In 2001 she was commissioned to research and write a 75th anniversary history of the Club.

In 2006, the Club asked Wild Strawberry to help market its City of London venue and facilities. The Little Ship Club is competing for clients in a crowded market and needed to emphasise the quality of its river-front facilities, the friendliness of its team and the unique atmosphere the venue offers.

To reach target audiences efficiently and cost-effectively we produced both printed and online content that works to provide a consistent, compelling and user-friendly message.

Most recently, the Club commissioned us to redesign its web presence and provide content for a new open-source Drupal web content management system. Working with the Club's webmaster we relaunched the site on time and budget.

We are now providing editorial management for the site. Because of our longstanding editorial responsibilities for print communications, we can manage the Club's on and offline channels very cost effectively, and use them to complement each other and enhance the sailing community.
